IIE is now accepting applications for the Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA)! Freeman-ASIA provides scholarships for U.S. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia. The program’s goal is to increase the number of U.S. citizens and permanent residents with first-hand exposure to and understanding of Asia and its peoples and cultures.

IIE International Partnership Landscape Survey Launch

Deadline: March 31, 2025

The IIE Center for International Partnerships is excited to launch the first comprehensive survey on partnerships this year. The International Partnership Landscape Survey provides a broad, comprehensive assessment of the state of international partnerships in higher education. The only global survey focused exclusively on such linkages, its questions span the motivations, locations, activities, challenges, collaborative practices, management processes, and conceptual assumptions that shape the partnership portfolios of responding higher education institutions (HEIs).

IIE’s Los Angeles Area Fires Emergency Student Fund: Nominations Open January 27

Nomination Deadline: Monday, February 10, 2025

IIE’s Emergency Student Fund provides grants to international undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. when crises threaten their ability to continue their education.

On January 27, IIE will open a nomination round for international students financially impacted by the fires in the greater Los Angeles area. IIENetwork member institutions will be able to nominate up to 5 international students and should ​​ explain the specific impact of the fires to the student, such as loss of property or evacuation and relocation expenses, including temporary relocation.
