Grants & Scholarships

CCIE presents a list of scholarship opportunities for international education that are available to our students. Please send information on additional scholarship so that we can augment our database.

COAST CCD ORANGE COAST:

FIPSE grant to develop parallel high-tech courses so students from member institutions can earn certificates recognized by higher education and vocational institutions both in the US and Europe. US partner institutions with colleges in Spain, Portugal, France, England and Iceland. (2001-2004) DISTRICT:

International and Intercultural Grants (CDIIG). Faculty Grants of $ 3,000 and Institutional Grants of $ 7,000 are awarded by the Coast District each semester to provide funding for initiatives that a) integrate a global perspective into the curriculum, b) promote international and intercultural relations and studies, and c) help the college communities to become more aware and sensitive to cultures other than their own, and to become more informed about global issues.

COASTLINE:

NORATEC Federal Grant and finished a FII Grant from the State Chancellor’s office researching the Barriers to Student Participation in Study Abroad Programs (2002-2004).

EL CAMINO

FOOTHILL/De ANZA CCD

Large ongoing training project with Credit Suisse called International Retail Banking Program. This is a private grant from the Swiss company. (On-Going)

GLENDALE

Private Grants in the amount of $ 12.00 to support the Baja Field Studies Program.

LOS RIOS CCD

SCC participated in a Library of Congress program (2004) called “Open World” in collaboration with the local federal court. Granted $ 5,000 to act as hosts for a delegation of Russian judges as they went through an orientation to the practices and routines of the justice system as well as met with classes and students.

RANCHO SANTIAGO CCD

Center for International Trade Development, the California Mexico Trade Assistance Center funded by state chancellor’s office and our district. Title VIa grant.

SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY

Applied for NAFSA mini-grant but was not funded. (1997)

SAN FRANCISCO

California Chancellor’s office Grant for Asian Infusion in the Curriculum. California Chancellor’s Office Grant for $ 17,827 (2001-2002)

SANTA MONICA

Title III: programs that improve student services (1999) Finishing its 1st year of a Title VI project called “Establishment of an Interdisciplinary Global Media Studies Center.” (2000)

SISKIYOUS

$4,940. “Sharing U.S. Art and Culture” Cooperative Grants Program (COOP): NAFSA. Project was developed to help international students develop a better awareness and understanding of the role of art in U.S. culture, as well as to increase interaction among U.S. and international students. Students participated in several coffeehouse style discussion series and attended a play, a piano concert, a Blues Festival, a Pow Wow. (1995)

STATE CENTER CCD

Center for International Trade Development: Received Title VI-B grant for the development of business faculty and received CITD grants from the stte Title VI-A grant to set up Latin American Studies program (2004-2005)

West Valley/Mission CCD

Title VIa (1998-2000). Grant programs are completed. FSS – Global Networking (1998-2000). Grant programs are completed

SAN DIEGO CCD NEW DISTRICT GRANTS (2003-2005)

The California/Mexico Network for Education and Training (CAL-MEX-NET) Project, funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Business and International Education Program, Title VI-B, focuses on promoting binational economic development. More than 1,000 individuals have participated in the first five years of the project which centers on establishing linkages among educational institutions, business, industry, community and professional organizations in both California and Mexico. The project currently supports several binational teacher and student exchange projects. (Awarded in 2001, refunded in 2003-2006) The Global Learning for All Project, funded by the American Council On Education (ACE), supports the SDCCD with resources and expertise designed to internationalize the curriculum and increase student understanding of international perspectives. (Awarded in 2003 – 2005)

Yosemite CCD CASS:

Georgetown University USAID: 2 year program and 1 year teacher education project – ongoing since 1989. Japan Agri-Council grant
