Celebrating Black History Month
Join the Institute of International Education (IIE) in celebrating the contributions and leadership of Black Americans to American history, the field of international education, and beyond!
IIE’s Center for Access and Equity is excited to announce that the institution application for the IIE American Passport Project is open. They invite U.S.-based IIENetwork member institutions to apply by February 28, 2025, at 6:00 pm EST. IIE will select at least 40 U.S.-based IIENetwork member institutions

The IIE Center for International Partnerships is excited to launch the first comprehensive survey on partnerships this year. The International Partnership Landscape Survey provides a broad, comprehensive assessment of the state of international partnerships in higher education. The only global survey focused exclusively on such linkages, its questions span the motivations, locations, activities, challenges, collaborative practices, management processes, and conceptual assumptions that shape the partnership portfolios of responding higher education institutions (HEIs).
Nomination Deadline: Monday, February 10, 2025
IIE’s Emergency Student Fund provides grants to international undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. when crises threaten their ability to continue their education.
On January 27, IIE will open a nomination round for international students financially impacted by the fires in the greater Los Angeles area. IIENetwork member institutions will be able to nominate up to 5 international students and should explain the specific impact of the fires to the student, such as loss of property or evacuation and relocation expenses, including temporary relocation.
For those living in the greater Los Angeles area, I want to extend my deepest sympathies for those affected by the multiple fires. Our colleagues, friends, families and communities will forever be changed. I wish all of you safety, strength, and hope for recovery and healing in the immediate and future.

Applications for the Community College in France program are still open for Students, Faculty and Staff, until January 19th! This program offers practical learning experiences through interactive workshops, educational site visits, and robust vocational training.

I couldn’t have done it without the assistance provided through this scholarship, which helped me study abroad for ninety days in Florence, Italy. This experience abroad was one of the greatest choices I’ve made in my life.
