Thank you so much to California Colleges for International Education and to the Donald R. Culton Scholarship. I couldn’t have done it without the assistance provided through this scholarship, which helped me study abroad for ninety days in Florence, Italy. This experience abroad was one of the greatest choices I’ve made in my life. I got to learn more about Italian history and different cultures, becoming integrated into various lifestyles. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me that I could adapt to a new environment. I visited seventeen towns in Italy, including Rome and Naples, and even traveled to dream destinations outside of Italy, like Marrakech, Morocco, and Amsterdam, Netherlands. Living in Florence allowed me to immerse myself in Western History and live among historical landmarks. It was a truly enriching experience that I will always cherish.
After, my trip abroad I crossed the street to the jr high I used to attend and presented my time abroad to a group of eighth grade AVID students. I shared tasty European treats and let them know about this scholarship and many other that they can look into and share with family if they are interested. Thank you so much again.
