REGISTRATION OPEN: 11th Annual National Community College Virtual Peacebuilding Seminar

Registration is now open for the 11th Annual National Community College Virtual Peacebuilding Seminar.  This year’s seminar will be held by Zoom Fridays, October 27 & November 3 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. ET.

Held since 2013, this seminar provides faculty and students easy access to a range of peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and social justice professionals who share about their important work.  Presenters include not only faculty experts, but practitioners, as well as students engaged in research and peace related projects.

Since 2020, the seminar has been held virtually.  From 2013-2019 it was held face to face at Montgomery College, Northern Virginia Community College, and George Mason University.  It is now sponsored by the Forage Center for Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Education.

As in previous years, the seminar is free for undergraduate students, though they must register in advance.   Graduate students pay $25, and faculty and administrators pay $80.  Registration will close October 23.  After  registration is completed, an invoice will be sent for payment.

This year’s program includes presentations on colleges and universities sponsoring refugees, a student peacebuilding panel, peacebuilding in Nepal, critical race theory, storytelling, and global peace trends among other topics.  A complete list of presentations (12 in total) will be posted here by September 21.

If you are faculty, please share with your students and colleagues.  If you have questions, please contact admin@foragecenter.org.
