Dear CCCFLC Members,
It is almost that time again. In a little over a month we will, hopefully, all be attending this year’s conference at beautiful Glendale College, on Saturday, October, 10/19/24, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Thus far we have received only one presentation application. Please consider presenting. The success of our conference depends on the quality and quantity of the presentations offered. We hope many of you were inspired over the summer. Some possible topics we are interested in seeing are:
The incorporation of AI in the foreign language classroom.
Ways to increase enrollment, such as interdisciplinary certificates, course exchanges (see below), ZTC/OER courses, split courses (Spanish 1A and 1B), dual enrollment, language courses designed for professionals, heritage-speaker classes (beginning and intermediate), etc.
Asynchronous language instruction.
Service/Project-based learning.
Course exchanges, mini language lessons provided in another discipline, i.e. teaching a foreign language class regarding health in a nursing class. Spark their interest in the language.
How to compete with online language resources (Babbel, Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, etc.)?
This is just a small list of possible topics. If you have other suggestions, we’d love to hear them!
Please submit the (editable) 2024 Presentation Application at your earliest convenience. Co presenters and/or panels are welcome. The due date for applications is September 20, 2024. Get creative!
We look forward to seeing you all very soon.
In the spirit of collaboration and mutual support, for any CCCFLC members who would like to advertise an organization or event related to teaching foreign languages, this area is now designated for sharing such information. Simply email us your links and we will include them in our newsletters. Thank you.
P.S. Feel free to bring any pamphlets or brochures to share at the conference. |
