IIE Emergency Student Fund
Nomination Deadline: October 22, 2024
The IIE Emergency Student Fund provides grants to international undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. when crises threaten their ability to continue their education. We are issuing a Fall 2024 call for IIENetwork member institutions (including institutions that join IIENetwork by the ESF deadline) to nominate up to five international students from the following locations who are financially impacted by recent climate disasters, political emergencies, or war in their home countries. IIE is currently considering nominations of students from these countries:
- Bangladesh
- Kenya
- Venezuela
- Israel, Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon (students from neighboring countries impacted by conflict may also be nominated)
IIE will award selected students with a one-time grant of $2,000 to offset their 2024-2025 educational expenses in the United States due to serious financial difficulties related to these crises. Funds can be used to cover the students’ educational, living, or health-related expenses.
To learn more about the nomination process and eligibility criteria and for questions, please contact esf@iie.org. To learn more about the IIENetwork Membership or to inquire about your institution’s member status, please contact membership@iie.org.
IIE has launched a new regional crisis response effort to reach those impacted by recent climate disasters, political emergencies, or war in Bangladesh, Kenya, Venezuela, Israel, Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. With support from institutional partners and individual donors, IIE can deploy support for students, scholars, and artists immediately after an emergency hits. Be there for these students when they need it most by supporting the IIE Emergency Student Fund.
