The Institute of Study Abroad Ireland has shared some opportunities for your college or university that may be of interest- they offer two full online courses, completely free to use, as content, as an element of an existing course, as a new course, as a global studies course, or as an elective / personal enrichment course.
The first course is called ‘Global Perspectives through the Narratives of Ireland ‘It is sixteen classes, it deals with universal themes ( mythology, colonization, migration, conflict, education, business, literatures, etc) and is asynchronous, there are assignments which we or you can evaluate and it’s very easy to deliver.

It is fully funded by the Irish Government, so there is no catch and no subscription. Please click here to preview the link. If you wish to use it, please contact Dr. Niamh Hamill at info@isaireland and it can be easily set up for students.
The second online course is called ‘Imperfect Parallels’ – it’s about the civil rights movements in USA and Northern Ireland. It was filmed in USA and Northern Ireland, with curriculum by ourselves and faculty at Morehouse College, with excellent guest speakers from both communities. Again- it’s fully funded can be used as content in a history/ pol sci / CJ etc course, or a stand-alone course, or a global studies course. Please click here to preview the link.

Study Abroad Programs with the Institute of Study Abroad Ireland run all year round, and many are multi-disciplinary cultural competency programs. ISAI also offers programs specific to certain fields of study – Criminal Justice, Theatre Studies, Culinary & Hospitality, Healthcare, Audio & TV/ Video, Mythology, Business and Sustainability, Indigenous Studies, Art Therapy, Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Sustainability, & Irish Language. The trips are generally between $1800-$2600 depending on the time of year, number of students, and elects of the program, so the total including airfare, meals, transfers, tours, tuition, accommodation is aimed to come in under $4000 total, and preferably under $3500. Gilman scholarships, and other funding routes will often cover this in total. For more information contact Dr. Niamh Hamill info@isaireland.com
The online and the study trips are two of a three-part strategy- the third being a Professional Development program in Ireland. The PD program delves into all aspects of internationalization – Faculty fear, student fear, institutional fear – getting the right curriculum, attracting the first generation or disinterested student, making it affordable, accessible, and engaging – energizing a consortium or working with faculty in same fields, different colleges and networking and learning from more experienced people. The next Professional Development programs will be in fall of 2025 and booking will open in October 2024. For more information contact Dr. Niamh Hamill info@isaireland.com
